Since we started to work in our own clinic, we have been running pregnancy yoga and prenatal classes in the name of DOABODRUM. DOABODRUM operates in a yoga studio located in our clinic. So why do we care so much about preparing for birth, doing yoga and opening various prenatal classes?
What are the benefits of pregnancy yoga?
Pregnancy yoga is a great way to prepare for childbirth. It is an excellent exercise that both physically prepares the body for birth, and keeps the mother calm and serene spiritually, making the pregnancy enjoyable. Pregnancy yoga improves your sleep, reduces stress and anxiety, increases the strength, flexibility and endurance of the muscles needed for childbirth, reduces back pain, nausea, headaches and shortness of breath. There is also something I particularly care about, which helps pregnant women who practice yoga in groups to meet and bond with each other, which is a huge boost in preparing to become parents.
In order to learn which types of yoga are not suitable for pregnant women or which movements are recommended, to discover your stretching limits and not to harm yourself or your body, I definitely recommend that you do yoga with a professional instructor.
Childbirth is one of the most important events in the life of a couple, especially a woman. The unknown about birth sometimes complicates the birth process, and in some cases, the unknowns grow with fear, causing the expectant mother to be filled with horror and making normal birth impossible.
However, birth is a miracle. Of course there are challenges, but there are also ways to deal with them. When we receive the correct education and are guided properly, we can have a birth that we can narrate with happiness and high energy for a lifetime. For this reason, I have been opening prenatal classes in Bodrum for ten years, and I have encouraged all my pregnant women to attend.

What do you learn in prenatal classes?
First of all, you will have the opportunity to learn all the processes related to childbirth. You have the chance to share all your question marks and concerns with the trainers or obstetricians who participated in the training. Scientific research shows that people who attend childbirth classes are less likely to experience anxiety and stress than those who do not. An important sub-title of prenatal classes is ways of coping with pain. You will be taught relaxation techniques, visualization techniques, and given information about pain treatments (such as epidural
block) used during labor.
In childbirth preparation classes, it is also possible to bond with your partner as parents, so we recommend that both spouses participate in these activities. Give yourself a nice gift and attend the birth preparation training for an easy and enjoyable birth experience.
