Obstetrician and Gynecologist
Dr. Aybala Akil is an obstetrician-gynecologist based in Bodrum, Turkey. With her two decades of experience in medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, she is dedicated to helping women thrive
throughout their reproductive years.
She earned her medical degree from Çukurova University Faculty of Medicine in 1999. After graduating from medical school, she began her career in medicine as a general practitioner in central Turkey. In 2004, Dr Akıl realised her passion for helping women bring newborns into the world. This
led her to specialize in obstetrics and gynecology at Kartal Education and Research Hospital in Istanbul.
From 2010 – 2012, she completed her residency in obstetrics at Gaziantep Şehitkamil State Hospital.
During this time, Dr Akil also trained in non-invasive surgery, specializing in laparoscopy at Çukurova University under Prof Dr Mehmet Ali Vardar. A year later, she continued her training in Strasbourg, France, specializing in gynecological laparoscopy at IRCAD/EITS under Prof Dr Arnaud Wattiez at his clinic. This training was followed Dr Akil completing a course in A-to-Z Laparoscopic Suturing under the direction of Prof Arnaud Wattiez in gynecological surgery.
In 2012, she began working at Acibadem Hospital in Bodrum as an obstetrician-gynecologist serving Turkish and foreign women across the Bodrum peninsula. At Acibadem, she specialized in genital aesthetics, focusing on aesthetics and cosmetic gynecology, by undergoing training with Prof. Süleyman Eserdağ, an expert certified by the International Society of Aesthetic Genital Surgery & Sexology.
In 2018, Dr Akil founded a private women’s clinic in Bodrum. She offers the latest gynecological treatments and procedures to an international clientele from the United States, Europe and the Middle East. Patients can access genital aesthetic and cosmetic procedures, laser treatments, gynecological surgeries, infertility treatment, pregnancy care, and more.
Originally from Istanbul, Dr Akil is fluent in Turkish, English and speaks conversational Spanish. She resides in Bodrum with her husband and two children. She enjoys yoga, pilates, and swimming in the Aegean Sea in her spare time.
