Genital whitening (also known as genital bleaching) is a cosmetic procedure performed to lighten the color tone of the vulva. This process can be done with topical creams, laser or chemical peeling.
Although the term vaginal whitening is commonly used, the vaginal whitening process does not involve the inner canal of the vagina in any way. The external appearance of the genital area is as important to many women as any other part of the body. Although the most common cause of darkening is pregnancy and childbirth, also laser hair removal, exposure to the sun or solarium, some drugs and chemicals – cream, perfume, etc. can cause this situation. Aging, hormone imbalances and/or genetic causes can also cause genital darkening. Many women experience insecurity, low mood, and even sexual distress when their
genitals turn darker.
The process called genital whitening can be done by laser, some creams or chemical peeling. Laser genital whitening is achieved by peeling the darkened skin using laser technology. Dark tissues are removed, and dark skin is peeled off, just like sunburned skin is peeled off. After a few sessions of application, the color of the skin becomes lighter by several tones, and the dark tissues in the perineum are permanently removed. Depending on the technology of the laser device used, the procedure is often painless, but numbing cream is still applied beforehand. Lightening is performed in three or more sessions depending on the situation, and each session usually takes 10-15 minutes to complete.
Chemical peeling is performed by applying some special drugs to the darkened perineal skin. It is painless, there is no burning sensation on the skin. However, it is important not to peel the shield skin leaves by hand, but to wait for them to peel off on their own.
Whitening creams are applied by the person at home, after a long period of use, they lighten the perineum color a few tones.
There is no recovery process. You can return to your normal daily life. However, it is recommended that you consider your doctor's warnings about how many hours of water should not be touched or other issues that you should pay attention to. It is recommended not to have sexual intercourse for 3-4 days after the procedure.
