Vaginoplasty, also known as vagina tightening or vagina rejuvenation, is an operation to tighten the walls of the vagina (internal and external muscles and other structures) that have been loosened due to aging and childbirth. The purpose of vaginoplasty is to increase the muscle tightness, strength and control of the vagina. In particular, it is aimed to improve sexual function by narrowing the diameter of the vagina. Vaginoplasty, which is performed by narrowing all the walls of the vagina, treats the complaint of flatulence in the form of gas leakage from the vagina during or after intercourse or during sports, and perhaps more importantly, it increases sexual satisfaction for both men and women by increasing the friction experienced during intercourse.
The first rule of vaginoplasty is to determine the amount of tightening to be done with a good examination. Thus, the amount of excess skin to be removed is determined. In the surgery, after the excess tissues are removed, the loosened structures and other tissues below are tightened with strong sutures. After the vaginal canal is narrowed, the mucosa is closed by suturing with very thin sutures that dissolve and disappear on their own. The entire operation takes about 2 hours. After the surgery, a tampon is placed in the vagina, which will remain for a few hours. Often you don't need to be hospitalized, or you can stay overnight if you wish.
You can put ice between your legs at intervals to prevent swelling and edema on the first day. You will have antibiotics and painkillers, and you will also use sterilizing solution for dressing, especially after going in and out of the toilet. Although the pain may last up to two weeks, you can return to work within 2-5 days after the operation. At the end of 2 weeks, pain, bruising and swelling are usually completely gone. Full recovery takes up to a month. We do not recommend doing intense exercises, yoga, pilates for a
month and a half. Also, remember, there will be a one-month absolute ban on sexual intercourse.
